An award winning watercolor artist and photographer,
Christine has been painting the islands and inlets of
the Florida Keys for over 20 years. As her studio
overlooks an easterly facing bay on Ramrod Key,
Christine experiences both wonderful daily sunrises and
the reflective sunset off of the water and clouds.
The changing seasons and every-changing cloud formations
provide endless artistic inspiration for her, and she
finds watercolor to be the perfect medium to express her
love for the environment. Christine studied
painting at The Boston Museum School where she became
familiar with the works of Winslow Homer, Charles
Burchfield and Edward Hopper, who still inspire her with
theri expressive brushstrokes and masterful use of
color.; Upon completing her studies, Black lived
and painted on Nantucket Island for ten years before
moving to the Keys. She returns there as often as
possible and also enjoys traveling the world where she
is especially drawn to coastal towns and exotic islands.
